Privacy Policy
lil babel is an iPhone app of words from around the world, and it runs on your device. We do not collect, store or sell your personal data.
What we collect
Nothing. lil babel has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking SDKs. We never receive information about the words you read, save or share.
What stays on your device
- Your reading language, appearance, app icon, widget appearance and haptics preferences.
- Words you save and words you have recently viewed.
This information is stored locally on your iPhone and is never sent to us. The widget reads your reading language, its appearance and whether the app is unlocked from a container shared on your iPhone. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Maps
From version 1.2, the maps of where words come from are drawn on your device from map data bundled with the app; showing them sends no request. Version 1.0 used Apple MapKit, which loads map imagery from Apple; Apple's privacy policy applies to it.
Apple services
- Pronunciation. Words are spoken by voices built into iOS, on your device.
- Purchases. The optional one-time unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details; the app only checks with Apple whether the unlock is active.
Sharing
Share cards are created on your device and leave it only when you choose a destination in the iOS share sheet.
Children
lil babel does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its dates.
